Mexico and Peru have a rich common heritage as birthplaces of great pre-Hispanic civilizations. Both countries have undergone a similar national process since gaining Independence and throughout the formative years of their republics, up until contemporary history. From the initial diplomatic contacts until today, the bilateral relation has been engaging and fraternal. The second decade of the XXI Century further strengthened bilateral ties upon joining forces in the Pacific Alliance and the conformation of a Strategic Partnership in 2014. The purpose of this article is to foster a deeper understanding of the bilateral relation and to envision its possible future.
