Abstract

This article analyzes the impact of innovation and technology on women's entrepreneurship in the Asia-Pacific region, with a focus on how Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) has played an important role in the empowerment of women entrepreneurs. With more women taking on leadership roles, a key to their success, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, has been the access to technological tools and international networks. APEC has launched programs fostering financial inclusion, digital skills training and the creation of support networks in order to overcome barriers such as lack of financing and business training. Even though progress has been made, women entrepreneurs continue to face structural and cultural obstacles that limit their potential. The APEC 2024 chairmanship in Peru represents an opportunity to strengthen the role of women within the digital economy and to promote inclusive policies that encourage their participation and leadership in the business world.
