Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file must be in Microsoft Word format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The author of the article declares and guarantees:
    • That they are the original holder of the economic rights to their article and that they have not made any prior assignment that affects the assignment made in favor of the Academia Diplomática del Perú Javier Pérez de Cuéllar.
    • That the article whose rights have been assigned to the ADP is an original work and does not infringe on the rights of third parties.
    • That they will be responsible to the ADP and third parties in the event of any claim related to copyright.
    • That they authorize the ADP to publish, together with their article and only in that case, their name and email address.
  • Articles will be received in Spanish and English.
  • The articles will be presented in compliance with the following format:
    - Title in Spanish and English
    - The text must not include personal data of the author and/or authors to ensure the anonymity of the text.
    - Abstract in Spanish and English (maximum 200 words)
    - List of keywords in Spanish and English
    - Letter Arial 12
    - Space 1.5
    - Bibliographic references using APA standards, seventh edition
    - Bibliography at the end of the article
    - The maximum length (not including bibliography) is 5,500 words
  • The registration section will include a space to add the name of the author(s) and a brief updated professional review (maximum 140 words).
  • Authorship Contribution for Two or More Authors: Authors must specify their collaboration in the preparation of co-authored articles. To do this, they should use the Contributor Roles Taxonomy (CRediT) criteria. These roles can be consulted at the following link: https://credit.niso.org/

    This should be located in the Word file before the bibliography in the following format:
    "JPM (Author's initials): research, writing, methodology, writing - review & editing, conceptualization, conclusions... (contribution)."
  • Authors must have an ORCID number. If they do not have one, they must create it through our website before submitting their manuscript.
  • "Política Internacional" is published under a Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license. This license allows others to "distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they give credit for the original creation." By using the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, authors retain their copyright and grant the journal the right to be the first publisher of their work, while allowing third parties to use the published material as long as they properly attribute the authorship and first publication in "Política Internacional" journal.
    "Política Internacional" provides free and immediate access to all its content, adhering to the principle of making research freely available to the public, thereby promoting greater global knowledge exchange. By publishing in "Política Internacional," authors automatically agree to allow the editing, publication, reproduction, distribution, and public communication of their work.
  • The author of the article ASSIGNS, in favor of the Academia Diplomática del Perú Javier Pérez de Cuéllar, free of charge, exclusively, and in perpetuity, the following economic rights:
    • The right to reproduce their article by any form or procedure.
    • The right to communicate the work to the public by any means.
    • The right to distribute the work to the public.
    • The right to translate, adapt, arrange, or otherwise transform the work.
    • The right to import into the national territory copies of the work made without the authorization of the rights holder by any means, including through transmission.
    • The right to any other form of utilization of the work not covered by law as an exception to economic rights, with the list above being merely illustrative and not exhaustive.
    • The right to exploit, transfer, and assign the aforementioned rights worldwide.
  • If your article is selected, you will be required to submit a translated version of the text, which may be done using specialized software or digital tools such as Microsoft Word or others. This version will be reviewed by the journal's copy editor before final publication.

Author Guidelines

In the response message you must answer the following questions about the content of the article:

  • Is there coherence between the title of the article and its content?
  • Does the article have a coherent hypothesis?
  • Do you consider that the article presents new or little-known information?
  • Do you consider that the article is a contribution to the thought of the foreign policy of Peru?
  • Are the data and examples presented throughout the article relevant to support the author's arguments?
  • Does the article present claims supported by evidence?
  • Does the author present conclusions and recommendations relevant to the topic addressed?
  • Does the author use fluent language and correct use of grammar?
  • Does the author make correct use of bibliographic sources?


Authorship Contribution for Two or More Authors:

Authors must specify their contributions to the preparation of the submitted articles. To do this, the Contributor Role Taxonomy (CRediT) criteria should be used. These roles can be consulted at the following link: https://www.credit.niso.org

Personal data accessed by this journal will be used exclusively for the purpose of disseminating work related to Diplomacy, Peru's Foreign Policy, and International Relations. This data will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other individuals or institutions, unless there is a legal obligation to do so.

The Editorial Board of the journal will process authors' data for the management, editing, and dissemination of articles, and contributions will be used accordingly.

Rejected contributions will be archived in the historical record of the editorial management and publication system used by the journal and will not be used in contravention of the terms under which they were submitted.
