Beyond science fiction: the emergence of Artificial Intelligence in Diplomacy

This article addresses the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the international stage. The work begins with a historical review of AI, contextualizing its evolution over the last centuries. Subsequently, the impact that this disruptive technology has caused from the perspective of International Relations is delved into. Based on this analysis, we seek to identify which areas of the diplomatic exercise will be most influenced by the development of AI, to finally explore its potential as a foreign policy tool.
