Abstract

International non-state actors have acquired more prominence and influence on the international agenda. This article aims to examine the main challenges that such involvement represents for Diplomacy and International Relations. For this purpose, this paper describes the role of non-state actors in the field of International Relations. Then, it analyzes the challenges that arise from the relationship between international non-state actors, digital tools, and the exercise of Diplomacy, in a context marked by the post-Covid-19 reality and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Finally, this work proposes certain guidelines and recommendations that can be adopted by foreign services in the training of diplomatic officials.
